1. Overview

EVChargeSpec ("we," "our," "us") operates evchargespec.org. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use our website, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.

We are committed to privacy. Our calculators run entirely in your browser — we do not collect or transmit the vehicle specs, charging preferences, electricity rates, or driving habits you enter into our tools.

2. Information We Collect

We collect two categories of information:

Information you provide directly: Name, email address, and message content when you submit our contact form.
Information collected automatically: Usage data via Google Analytics (pages visited, session duration, browser/device type, approximate geographic location at city/region level, referral source). This data is aggregated and anonymized.

We do not collect Social Security numbers, payment card information, precise GPS location, government-issued ID numbers, or vehicle identification numbers (VINs).

3. Calculator Inputs — Not Collected

All inputs to our Charging Time Calculator, EV Cost Calculator, Vehicle Lookup filters, and Charger Specs tools are processed locally in your browser using JavaScript. We do not collect, store, log, or transmit vehicle selections, battery sizes, electricity rates, driving habits, state of charge values, or any other calculator inputs to our servers or any third party.

4. Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand aggregate site usage. GA4 collects:

Pages visited and time spent on each page
Browser type, operating system, and device category
Approximate geographic location (city/region, not precise address)
Referring website or search query
Session count and engagement metrics

Google Analytics uses cookies to distinguish users. Data is sent to Google servers and governed by Google's Privacy Policy. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

5. Google AdSense

We display advertising through Google AdSense. Google uses cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to our site and other sites on the internet. You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings or by visiting aboutads.info.

Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to this site. Google's data practices are governed by the Google Privacy Policy.

EVChargeSpec itself does not set first-party cookies. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect analytics and ad personalization but will not affect calculator functionality.

8. How We Use Information

We use collected information to:

Respond to contact form submissions
Understand aggregate site usage to improve content and tools
Serve relevant display advertising through Google AdSense
Track affiliate commissions for Amazon Associates
Maintain site security and prevent abuse

We do not sell personal information. We do not use personal information for automated decision-making that produces legal effects.

9. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share data only in the following limited circumstances:

Service providers: Google (Analytics, AdSense, Fonts), FormSubmit.co, Cloudflare, Amazon Associates — as described in Section 6. These providers process data only as needed to deliver their services.
Legal requirements: If required by law, court order, or governmental authority.
Business transfer: If EVChargeSpec is sold or transferred, user data may transfer as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.

10. Data Retention

Contact form submissions (name, email, message) are retained in our email inbox for up to 24 months, then deleted. Google Analytics data is retained for 14 months per our GA4 configuration. Server access logs maintained by Cloudflare are governed by Cloudflare's retention policies.

To request deletion of contact form data you submitted, email us at [email protected] with the subject "Data Deletion Request."

11. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

Right to Know: You may request disclosure of the personal information we have collected about you in the past 12 months, including categories, sources, purposes, and third parties it was shared with.
Right to Delete: You may request deletion of personal information we hold about you, subject to certain exceptions (e.g., legal obligations).
Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising CCPA rights — no price changes, service denial, or reduced quality.
Do Not Sell My Personal Information: We do not sell personal information. No opt-out is required. To opt out of personalized advertising by Google, visit Google Ads Settings.

12. Nevada Privacy Rights

Nevada residents may opt out of the sale of "covered information" as defined under Nevada law (NRS Chapter 603A). We do not sell covered information. No action is required. For questions, contact [email protected].

13. Children's Privacy

EVChargeSpec is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly. If you believe we have such information, contact us at [email protected].
